~ Information and Reminders for our Guests ~
The Rankokus Indian Reservation, home to the people of the Powhatan Renape Nation, is located in southern New Jersey. The beautiful 350-acre grounds are a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan areas that are so near. We are located ½ hour northeast of Philadelphia and 1 ½ hour southwest of New York City. Although we have open fields and trails, much of our landscape is wooded, so be good to yourself and wear comfortable walking shoes. There are a limited number of wheelchairs available during Festivals and for Museum tours. By providing us with your driver's license, you may use them at no charge during your visit. Please inquire at the Information Booth. Except during Festivals and special events, there are no concessions available on the property. ~ Gift Shop ~ Our Gift Shop is open during Museum hours (Sat., Tues., and Thurs. 10:10 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.). To avoid disappointment, it's a good idea to call in advance, as due to Powhatan community events, occasionally the facility is closed to the public. During Festivals, the Gift Shop is open on the Reservation grounds. We accept MasterCard and Visa. ~ Etiquette ~ We are pleased to share our land, history, and culture with you, but we ask you to do so with respect. Thank you in advance for following these few requests:
~ Medical ~ The nearest hospital is Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. It is located 3 miles from the Rankokus Reservation at 175 Madison Avenue. Phone: 609-267-0700 ~ Accommodations ~ Please see our accommodations listing for a full list of area hotels, motels and campgrounds. ~ Thank you for visiting! | |
